Lima is the capital and the largest city of Peru located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It is the industrial and financial center of Peru, and one of the most important financial centers in Latin America. Additionally the city is characterized as a major point of entry to the country and well known for its historic center, archeological sites, nightlife, museums, beaches, art galleries, churches, restaurants and traditions. The Historic Centre of Lima was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. Overall Lima is a mosaic of contrasts and options offering something for everyone.
